The School Farm is situated near to Newton Abbot on a 40-acre site surrounded by trees. The site is flanked by a tranquil river and comprises woodland areas and pasture. The staff and students are developing the site to include: horticulture, livestock, outdoor kitchen, bushcraft, orchard, restorative gardens, wildlife areas, construction, woodworking/mechanics workshops and a farm produce and crafts shop.
The school farm is staffed with a highly skilled and qualified team of professionals delivering a Therapeutic Curriculum. The opportunities such a school farm can bring to our young people are many; explorative, nurturing practical activities can help release the ‘feel-good’ hormones, helping relieve stress, rebuild neurological pathways and enabling our students to engage with learning.
