19th March 2021

‘Greening Up Enhanced’ competition

We are pleased to announce that the Greater Horseshoe School has won Enhanced Children’s Services competition.  The competition was designed to promote environmental projects across the company and was open to all sections of our parent company.  GHS won in all categories, reflecting our strong commitment to environmental projects and the skills of our staff and young people in horticulture, land-based studies and all aspects of the natural environment.

The categories were:

  • best community initiative
  • best artistic interpretation
  • best indoor and outdoor planting initiative
  • best young person initiative

The Greater Horseshoe School won in all categories!  Lukasz presented the prize to Student Council – a voucher for £250 in total to spend on plants or gardening equipment.  The members of Student Council have already begun to plan what they would like to buy with the prize.  Their ideas include fruit trees, plants to attract butterflies and tropical fish.  Congratulations everyone!
