World Book Day Thursday, 3rd March

To celebrate this year’s 25 years of World Book Day, The Greater Horseshoe School will once again be holding a dress-up day.

We invite all our young people to come to school dressed up as their favourite book character on Thursday, 3^rd March.  All we ask is that your child’s costume is practical and appropriate for school.

Other activities include:

• ‘Doors as book jackets’ competition where groups of young people choose a classroom door to decorate.
• ‘Writes of Passage’ where our young people share the title and author of the book that means the world to them with the rest of the school by filling out a post-it on a noticeboard.
• Shared reading where members of staff share a book with our young people.
• Cake sale to raise money for the World Book Day charity.

On the day, each child is to bring £1 for the good cause and extra money to purchase a cake or two.  Each child will also receive a £1 book token to spend on a book of their choice.
